POS/Scheduler
The posted compensation range of $26.19 - $29.74 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The incumbent serves in both roles as Point of Service and Scheduler.
Core Duties and Accountabilities:
- Greet and assist patients using AIDET principles with general questions related to their coverage; and office protocol
- Verify and update patient demographics and insurance data on-line. Register new patients as necessary
- Collect and accurately post receivables and balance daily deposit
- Schedule, cancel, reschedule, and coordinate patient appointments using the IDX system
- Create, assign and work tasks in electronic medical records system
- Collect patient data as required
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma (or equivalent) required
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute required
- Ability to pass a clerical and 10-key test required
- General computer experience required
- Experience with Windows-based operating systems required
- Requires:
- Ability to apply good judgment in a variety of confidential and sensitive situations
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively,accurately and professionally with internal and external customers using AIDET principles
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision, using time wisely
- Ability to take instruction and follow established procedures
- Ability to work under conditions that are ever changing with frequent interruptions, and flexible hours
- Ability to maintain timely, accurate, legible and complete records
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience in a medical office practice, including business and scheduling functions, preferred
- Knowledge of insurance and billing preferred
- Experience with IDX systems preferred
- Experience with 10-key adding machine/calculator preferred
- Working knowledge of the fundamentals of business communications and medical terminology preferred
