Overview

As our Mammo Tech at CHI Williston Health, you will perform a variety of routine mammography related procedures by operating x-ray equipment on designated areas.  

CHI Williston Health, now part of CommonSpririt Health formed by the alignment of Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) and Dignity Health,have a variety of skills from clinical to project management. In our Critical Access Hospital, you will be exposed to the emergency department, acute care (Med/Surg), swing bed, surgery, outpatient treatment, and so much more!

Responsibilities
  • Capable of obtaining quality mammograms and radiographs using proper exposure, markers, and shielding, and knows how to use portable x-ray machines and c-arms.
  • Instructs and educates patient regarding the ordered test and prepares the patient for the procedure
  • Able to perform all Mammography exams including localizations/stereotactic biopsies, print images, and perform CAD on digital images.
  • Able to use CR reader, erase CR cassettes, send images from CR reader, and perform image manipulation as necessary.
  • Able to access PACS, review studies, and perform basic functions for image manipulations.  Resolve QA issues, close studies as reviewed, burn CD’s, transfer images, and print from PACS.
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
  • Maintains order, stock, and cleanliness of all areas in the department
  • Practices safe work habits, compliance with safety rules and regulations, and adheres to safety policies

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience 

  • Graduate of an accredited college or technical school for Radiologic Technology.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist

Required Licensure and Certifications

  • Registered Technologist Mammography, RTM.
  • BLS-CPR

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Training

  • Strong oral communications skills
  • Ability to deal with conflict and difficult people
  • Strong critical thinking skills
  • Knowledge of all regulatory agencies and their standards and processes
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
