Job Summary and Responsibilities

This position performs direct observation of the patient with a mental health or behavioral safety need. Utilizes  specialized training, de-escalation techniques and other interventions as applicable to create a  therapeutic and calming environment for patients. Communicates patient mental and/or physical status  changes to the primary Registered Nurse and/or Nurse Leader. Completes data collection related to  patient care, administers basic treatments and procedures under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and  communicates patient responses to the care provided to the Registered Nurse. Assumes personal  accountability for organizational mission and core values.

Schedule:  Three shifts a week 6:00pm - 6:00am or 8:00am - 8:00pm (potentially 10:00am-10:00pm) swing shift


Job Requirements

In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:

  • Diploma/G.E.D. required

  • One year experience in an acute care setting, mental health, human services or related is preferred

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Knowledge of therapeutic interventions

  • Basic computer skills

  • Basic Life Support Current Basic Life Support  (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association

Medium Work - exert/lift up to 50 lbs. force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. constantly
