Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Mammographer, where your unique talent for precision in medical imaging converges with a profound purpose to support patient health journeys, you will stand at the forefront of preventative healthcare.

Every day you will provide compassionate, high-quality patient care within the medical imaging department, performing critical exams with utmost sensitivity to patient needs. You will meticulously adhere to the highest standards of safe radiation practice, demonstrating leadership and serving as a vital role model for associate technologists. Beyond performing scans, you will act as a valuable clinical resource for unit personnel, ensuring our standards of practice remain current and exemplary.

  • Performs mammography examinations and meets quality standards set by Radiologists and ACR guidelines.
  • Produces quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA). Prepares patient for exam.
  • Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Assists in breast biopsies with physicians and handles appropriate paperwork and specimens.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Registered Radiology Technologist and Mammography Tech through the ARRT, ARRT (R) and ARRT(M) 
  • BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Licensed Radiology Tech (Kansas sites only)

Preferred

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree
  • One (1) year of imaging experience
  • Certified Bone Densitometry XRay certification
