Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Breast Imaging - Mammo Tech II, you will provide quality patient care within the medical imaging department by performing high-quality mammography images and exams, embodying best practices, and demonstrating leadership that ensures current unit standards.

Every day you will perform diagnostic mammograms with precision, maintain sensitivity to patient needs, strictly follow safe radiation practices, act as a clinical resource to unit personnel, and provide crucial assistance during interventional breast procedures.

To be successful in this role, you will possess current mammography certification, exceptional technical skills, a strong commitment to patient safety and compassionate care, leadership abilities, and the capacity to serve as a role model and resource within our breast imaging unit.

  • Performs examinations, providing safety for self, patients, and all other individuals.
  • Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable" (ALARA).
  • Produces quality images in a complete, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs.
  • Observes patient and equipment during the procedure and reports/documents unusual occurrences and records patient’s condition.
  • Communicates in writing and verbally with all physicians, imaging personnel, students, and hospital staff in facilitating the continuum of care.
Job Requirements

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ARRT (R) registered
  • Two (2) of the following registries (dependent on hospital/locations): ARRT (M) and ARRT (BS) or ARDMS (BR) OR Breast Imaging Navigator (NCBC certified) OR Bone Density certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association

Preferred

  • Associates degree
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • One (1) year Mammography, Breast Ultrasound, or Bone Density experience
