The Director, Area Operations is responsible for the overall business management of multiple Home Health and/or Hospice operations including leading, coordinating, facilitating, and monitoring patient care and support provided to patients and their caregivers in the assigned locations served. Acts as a liaison with the administrative staff of any affiliated health facility. Responsible for the development of new programs to meet the needs of the community.
Responsibilities
- Adheres to the Corporate Compliance Program, including confidentiality of HIPAA protected health information. Maintains confidentiality of patient information.
- Ensures the branches’ compliance with governmental standards and regulations for licensure and certification. Serves as an ex-officio member of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI).
- Knowledgeable of accrediting body standards, P&P, Federal, State and County rules and regulations, ability to apply to daily operations.
- Develops and implements short-term (quarterly) and long-term (annually) strategic plans that support quarterly business plans developed at the branches and supported by the Corporate Office Department level.
- Responsible for the revision of goals and plans per quarter as agreed upon with the VP, Regional Operations. Responsible for successful financial operation of branches.
- Reviews statistical and financial reports; develops plans, revises as needed to meet or exceed financial goals.
- Will lead business growth, including sales and marketing strategies for obtaining revenue goals to meet required number of face-to-face sales calls every week, unless otherwise indicated by VP, Regional Operations. Frequently collaborates the Director, Business Development and Sales team on the needs of the branch and organization.
- Monitors recruitment and retention in branches and assesses cost of advertising and direct hire. Reviews weekly with HR Designee. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, and orienting direct reports in branches.
- Oversight of recruitment and management of staff coordinates with VP, Regional Operations and Talent Acquisition Team, as necessary.
- Works with and supervises personnel in branches by providing opportunities for instruction, guidance and counseling as necessary to ensure complete understanding of responsibilities.
- Monitors productivity of direct reports and implements changes as needed.
- Will lead weekly staff meeting to discuss marketing, referral, conversion rates, patient census, discharges, A/R, recruitment, advertising, etc.
- On-going ability to coach and motivate staff. Assists staff through change with positive attitude.
- Assesses customer satisfaction surveys and Associate Engagement Results. Implements plan to improve and assesses plan every month. Reevaluates as necessary.
- Oversees and monitors patient and patient care services delivered and the implementation of policies and programs to ensure customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in health care management or nursing.
- Two year minimum experience in operations and finance; maintain and analyze financial data;
- Experience preparing and managing operating budgets.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Strong leadership skills; ability to effectively manage, motivate and train staff.
- Ability to make sound judgments and independent decisions.
- In Washington State, all providers must meet NPI requirement and furnish proof prior to onboarding
