Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapy Technician, you will help physical therapists and the department run smoothly so they can focus on patient care and efficiently deliver therapy services. Every day you will perform a variety of administrative and support tasks, including reconciling revenue, scheduling, checking charges for accuracy, ordering/stocking supplies, filing, faxing, answering phones, sending notes for signatures, scanning documents, and cleaning treatment areas. You will be expected to inform therapists of pertinent paperwork and maintain adherence to the Hospital's policies, procedures, Mission, and Philosophy. To be successful in this role, you must be organized, detail-oriented, able to multi-task, and possess strong communication skills, all while working under the direct supervision of a Staff Physical Therapist or Physical Therapy Supervisor.

  • Chart Management and Documentation: Creates new charts for orders and assessments, documents appointment cancellations, and ensures all patient charts are complete, including signed notes and forms like Medicare and minor consents. Weekly and daily chart checks are also performed
  • Supply and Equipment Maintenance: Monitors, orders, and stocks supplies daily, straightens the department, and disinfects plinths/mats weekly
  • Communication and Administrative Support: Handles incoming mail, answers phones, directs calls, provides information on departmental policies, and assists with gathering information for reports
  • Charge and Financial Management: Ensures daily charges are completed, processes and files records, and checks daily revenue for completeness
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedules appointments for various physical therapy clinics (including Underwood, Washburn, McClusky, Sheridan Memorial, and Turtle Lake, plus Turtle Lake OT and Speech for outpatient services) and notifies relevant departments and personnel. Also reminds therapists of overdue initial evaluations
  • Inventory Assistance: Assists with the yearly inventory process

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.
