Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Laundry Aide, you will be a central figure in maintaining essential hygiene and cleanliness standards, meticulously processing linens and garments for various departments. You will play a vital role in ensuring a consistent supply of clean, sanitized textiles that support health and operational efficiency.Every day, you will expertly operate commercial laundry equipment, meticulously sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute high volumes of soiled and clean items according to established protocols and infection control guidelines. You will also perform routine maintenance checks, identify malfunctions, and maintain the cleanliness and organization of the laundry facility, adhering strictly to safety regulations.To be successful in this role, you will combine a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail in handling and processing textiles, and a proactive approach to maintaining a sanitary and efficient workspace. You will demonstrate physical stamina, the ability to follow precise instructions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting fundamental daily operations. 

  • Linen Processing & Inventory: Launder linens according to infection control standards and remove damaged or stained items from inventory to maintain quality
  • Safe Transportation: Collect and transport contaminated linens throughout the facility using covered carts in strict compliance with State Health Regulations
  • Sanitation & Biohazard Control: Properly dispose of biohazardous materials, sanitize waste containers, and maintain a clean, organized workspace daily
  • Supply Management: Stock and organize linen closets daily and maintain department supply areas weekly to ensure continuous availability for patient care
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily equipment checks, report malfunctions to maintenance, and submit repair requests to ensure operational efficiency
  • Quality Assurance: Actively participate in departmental quality assurance monitoring to ensure ongoing adherence to hospital standards and safety protocols

CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is a 25 bed critical access hospital with a Level V Emergency Department that is available 24 hours a day. Our hospital has been committed to providing patients quality medical treatment in the Turtle Lake area and surrounding communities since 1952. Through the years, the hospital has sought to continually upgrade the quality and numbers of services it provides. The hospital's affiliation with major medical centers and health care agencies has allowed it to expand its health care services through a network that begins at the local level. CHI St. Alexius Health Turtle Lake is equipped with 2 emergency rooms, on-site lab, radiology, CT and physical therapy services. Our patients have access to 24/7 emergency care, swing-bed programs, and acute care services.
