The posted compensation range of $170.19 - $238.26 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
The Region Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) provides executive leadership and strategic direction for Virginia Mason Franciscan Health (VMFH), ensuring excellence in nursing professional practice, clinical outcomes, service, and patient-centered care. Reporting to the Region President and partnering closely with the Regional CMO, the Region CNO leads regional clinical operations and implements CommonSpirit's strategic plan. Leveraging LEAN principles, the Region CNO drives improvements in patient outcomes, service satisfaction, financial performance, and resource utilization, creating a sustainable competitive advantage. This transformational leader fosters innovation, champions change, and proactively prepares the nursing staff for the evolving healthcare landscape, playing a critical role in achieving VMFH's strategic priorities and the national nursing strategy, while ensuring high-quality, safe, and financially sound care. All efforts align with CommonSpirit and VMFH's mission, vision, values, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements
- Nursing degree required. (If a graduate degree is not in nursing, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.)
- Master’s or Post Graduate Degree required. Doctorate preferred.
- Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
- Progressive leadership experience with a minimum of three (3) years’ as a CNO, preferably in a large, complex acute care facility.
Licensure/Certification
- Active and current registered nurse license.
- Compact nursing license required.
- Current certification in executive leadership is preferred.
