Responsibilities
JOB SUMMARY:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a vital role in providing diagnostic imaging services. You will operate nuclear detection and imaging equipment, prepare radiopharmaceuticals, and administer them to patients, ensuring accurate and high-quality images for physicians to use in diagnosis and treatment planning. You will adhere to strict safety regulations and maintain the highest standards of quality control for all equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of nuclear medicine principles, procedures, and safety protocols. You will also contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare and calibrate nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring optimal image quality.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Perform nuclear medicine procedures, utilizing various imaging techniques.
- Maintain accurate patient records and logs, adhering to all regulatory requirements.
- Handle and dispose of radioactive materials safely and responsibly.
- Provide exceptional patient care, explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Participate in quality control and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform general office duties, including scheduling, filing, and ordering supplies.
Qualifications
MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree).
- Washington State certification as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) (N) certification.
- Current BLS certification.
- Proven knowledge of nuclear medicine principles, equipment operation, and safety protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
