Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Manager Provider Compensation, you will lead the team in developing, implementing, administering, and reviewing provider compensation programs and agreements for the organization, encompassing significant financial scope.

Every day you will directly supervise staff, ensuring accurate and efficient processes for compensation and productivity modeling. You will also manage fair market value (FMV) processes, partner with legal and contracting teams on employment agreements, and collaborate with senior leadership on strategic compensation initiatives. You will participate in negotiations, oversee complex modeling, and ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payments.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong leadership in compensation management, expert knowledge of relevant financial processes and regulations, and a proven ability to lead analytical projects and collaborate strategically with diverse stakeholders for optimal outcomes.

  • Oversees provider compensation operations, ensuring timely and accurate payroll, accounting, financial reporting, compensation calculations, wRVU/productivity data, value-based metrics, and payment arrangements in accordance with provider contracts.
  • Leads compensation reporting, reconciliation, and modeling, including quarterly compensation resets, draw pay reconciliations, reimbursement modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis of provider compensation metrics across service lines.
  • Ensures data accuracy and quality, overseeing wRVU validation, non-wRVU activity tracking, provider payroll audits, compensation calculations, benchmarking, quality control processes, and identification and resolution of variances or deficiencies.
  • Manages provider compensation workflows and systems, coordinating provider setup with Accounting and Recruitment, overseeing processes for medical directorships, call time tracking, provider builds and reporting, and troubleshooting onboarding or system issues.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and organizational standards, including provider contract terms, applicable regulations, CommonSpirit National fair market value standards, VMFH policies, internal procedures, and established compensation guidelines; escalates issues and keeps leadership informed of risks and concerns.
  • Leads and develops the Provider Compensation team, overseeing staff responsible for financial analysis, modeling, reconciliation and compensation processing; provides training, mentoring and performance management while directing ad hoc analyses, projects, and department resources to support organizational and financial objectives.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Bachelors Other in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, Finance or related field and five years of progressively responsible related work experience that would demonstrate attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities, upon hire and
  • Three years in a supervisory or management capacity.
  • None, upon hire


Preferred

  • Masters Other in a related discipline and Work experience in a large integrated medical group, upon hire
