Epic Credential Trainer
The posted compensation range of $37.40 - $55.63 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Delivers structured education on assigned applications of the VMFH Epic electronic health record (EHR) system to a diverse audience of End Users. Duties include: 1) leading instruction and competency testing for the Super Users and End Users, 2) providing tutorial or special audience training, and 3) assisting with sustainment training support for End Users as required. An incumbent is also accountable for maintaining the readiness of training rooms, assembling training materials, generating status reports on training sessions and participating in the quality improvement process.
This position requires successful completion of the Epic credentialing process which includes a 120-hour training program on the application(s), to include “teach back” methodology, successful completion of a teaching presentation before a panel, and successful completion of a Credentialing exam.
Travel is required to other VMFH sites as needed for meetings and classes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:
Delivers structured education for assigned application(s) of VMFH Epic Program.
- Leads assigned classroom activities; records questions and feedback as appropriate to include in future education and/or end user support sessions.
- Ensures course attendance is accurately recorded and administers and grades end-user proficiency examinations.
- Reviews curriculum and lesson plans to ensure articulacy with any changes to the materials.
- Be subject matter expert for designated Epic applications and curriculum
Ensures the readiness of training rooms, computer workstations, devices and materials in preparation for for classes; collaborates with administrative support staff to ensure accurate attendance and reporting from classes.
- Collaborates with administrative support staff to review list of scheduled attendees prior to class to determine and prepare for classroom support needs (curriculum, materials, tests, etc.).
- Reviews and ensures final attendance records are accurate; ensures that timely roster/attendance information is provided to enable efficient end-user access activation.
- Works closely with IT support team as necessary.
Assesses the effectiveness of the curriculum to identify and contribute to quality improvements.
- Consults with management and technical staff to ensure the validity and relevance of course curriculum.
- Recommends and/or makes modifications to curriculum based on market feedback.
- Develop, review, and approve market-specific training materials
- Incorporates changes to curriculum, lessons plans, End-User proficiency exams and incorporates into classroom training.
Provides training support and serves as a training resource to application-specific departments/clinics.
- Provides one-on-one and small group teaching support to End-Users at the department/work unit level.
- Documents and interprets common themes of End-Users’ sustainment support needs.
- Develops E-Learning modules based on either request or need for both new hire classroom or sustainment training support.
- Assists with issues/questions and/or refers issues to Instruction Designers and/or Support Training counterparts.
Qualifications
Education/Work Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or healthcare related field plus three (3) years of related work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities, preferably including training program design and implementation.
- Experience in a health-care related environment involving the provision of Electronic Health Record (EHR) training preferred.
- Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
