Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, you will lead and oversee all Clinical Laboratory operations, ensuring high standards of patient care and regulatory compliance. You will be instrumental in implementing new procedures, maintaining quality control, and driving laboratory efficiency.
Every day you will manage and train lab personnel, oversee specimen processing, and ensure adherence to technical standards from JCAHO, CAP, and the State of California. You will also participate directly in lab operations as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
To be successful, you will effectively manage personnel, ensure regulatory compliance, and excel in quality assurance and inventory management. Your leadership skills in strategic agility and team development, along with strong communication, will be critical for success.
- Plans, directs and supervises Hematology/Coagulation/Urinalysis relative to personnel, programs and operations .
- Maintains technical standards as prescribed by JCAHO, CAP and the State of California.
- Establishes and maintains a quality assurance/control program.
- Ascertains the reliability of test results being used.
- Ensures all equipment is maintained. Establishes and maintains all procedural directions .
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA.
- Minimum of five years at a moderate or high complexity laboratory. One year experience as a supervisor or higher, preferred
- CA Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License
- Job duties require administrative skill and leadership qualities. Familiarity with financial management, Human Resources, Equipment Management, Quality Management, Physician Relations, Workflow Design are key skills to be successful. Excellent communication skills are needed to influence staff and to support internal and external customers. Extensive knowledge in state and federal regulations is needed to ensure ongoing compliance.
