St. Josephs Behavioral Health Center is a licensed not-for-profit facility providing comprehensive behavioral health services for psychiatric and chemical dependency disorders. We offer a 35-bed inpatient hospital day treatment and outpatient services. Our specially trained staff of board certified psychiatrists physicians and licensed professionals are committed to providing compassionate quality care and creating an atmosphere that fosters communication trust and personal growth.


Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor - RN or LVN/LPT the Mental Health Worker participates in observing reporting and recording of patient behaviors. The Mental Health Worker is responsible for helping to provide a safe and secure environment for all patients and families in a therapeutic manner. May be required to drive an automobile by transporting documents or patients to meet the needs of the Behavioral Health Center. This position requires providing service to a one or more age populations including a child adolescent/teen adult and geriatric patient population in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.


Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • One (1) year direct hands on patient experience as a Certified Nurse Assistant or Nursing Assistant in an acute care setting (hospital or LTC) or six (6) months psychiatric experience required.
  • Six (6) months of customer service required.
  • High school graduate or equivalent .
  • Current CA driver's license
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

PREFERRED:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification is preferred.
