The posted compensation range of $29.77 - $33.89 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Environmental Services Worker I, you will help maintain the hospital in a neat, orderly, sanitary, and safe condition so they can provide a secure and welcoming environment for patients, families, and staff.
Every day you will perform a variety of essential cleaning and sanitizing duties. You will be expected to follow strict safety policies and departmental procedures, ensure all areas—from patient rooms to offices—are fully stocked with supplies, and operate specialized equipment like vacuums, floor care machines, and steam sterilizers with precision.
To be successful in this role you will possess the ability to follow detailed instructions, manage your daily workload efficiently, and demonstrate a professional and collaborative attitude while adhering to the organization’s mission and core values.
- Completes assignment in a timely manner and in accordance with Department Policies and Procedures.
- Understands and adheres to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Maintains assigned duties in a clean, sanitary and secure manner.
- Ensures all assigned areas including, but not limited to, lounges, rest rooms, exam rooms, offices, etc., have adequate disposable supplies.
- Assures equipment is in operating order prior to use.
- Uses vacuum cleaner, housekeeping carts, floor care equipment, and steam sterilization equipment in accordance with manufacturer's operating instructions.
Preferred
- High School Graduate or GED
- 6 months experience in housekeeping
