The posted compensation range of $29.65 - $33.20 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Emergency Department Tech, you will be a vital support member of our emergency department team, directly assisting medical staff and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patient care during critical moments. Your contributions will be essential to our ability to respond effectively to emergencies.
Every day you will assist nurses and physicians with direct patient care activities, including vital sign monitoring, patient transport, wound care, and equipment setup. You will be expected to maintain a clean and organized work environment, stock supplies, respond rapidly to patient needs and emergencies, and communicate effectively with the healthcare team, all while adhering to strict safety and infection control protocols.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong communication skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure, a compassionate and adaptable demeanor, and a foundational understanding of patient care principles, often demonstrated by relevant certifications such as CNA or EMT.
- Assures that the rights of the patient/family are respected and maintained.
- Allows for privacy and modesty in the provision of care.
- Identifies self by name and title to patient/family.
- Reports suspected cases of abuse/neglect, if identified.
- Provides for the physical, psycho-social and spiritual needs of the patient/family.
- Completes care and documents within required time frames.
Job Requirements
Required
- High School Graduate or GED
- Current CNA license or current EMT or EMT-P or Current Student Nurse status
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
