Responsibilities

As our RN Service Line Educator, you will:

  • Design and deliver engaging educational programs: Assess learning needs, develop curriculum, and conduct in-service training to ensure our staff possesses the skills and competencies required to meet regulatory standards, mitigate risks, and prioritize patient safety.
  • Champion new talent: Plan and direct orientation and residency programs for new perioperative personnel, fostering a supportive and enriching learning environment.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance quality improvement initiatives and integrate these changes into our educational offerings.
  • Collaborate and innovate: Work alongside fellow educators to promote professionalism, reduce duplication of effort, and standardize best practices across the organization.
  • Stay at the forefront: Participate in clinical instruction and conferences, continuously expanding your knowledge and expertise in your specialty area.

Qualifications

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree in a related field preferred.

  • Alternative Requirement: If you don't have a BSN but possess a combined total of at least four years of RN nursing and education/training experience in perioperative services, and are actively pursuing your BSN with a graduation date within six months of hire, we encourage you to apply!



  • Experience: Minimum of two years of RN nursing experience in a perioperative setting. Previous experience in healthcare education/training is highly desirable.

  • Knowledge & Skills:

  • Deep understanding of clinical nursing practice and exceptional patient assessment skills.
  • Proficiency in adult learning principles and effective teaching methodologies.
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to analyze data, interpret information, and apply CQI tools.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, patients, and visitors.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and lead teams.



  • Licensure/Certification:

  • Current active Washington State RN license.

  • Current Health Care Provider BLS certification.

  • CNOR or CPAN certification to be obtained within one year of hire.
