Perioperative Support Tech - Surgery Services
The posted compensation range of $20.14 - $30.13 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Responsibilities
Job Summary:
Performs a range of self-directed support activities that contribute to the overall efficiency of the perioperative area(s). Work involves inventorying, disassembling, cleaning, reassembling, and maintaining operating room equipment. Assisting in maintaining a clean, sanitary, orderly OR environment, and transporting patients as required.
An incumbent is required to understand and apply Standard Precaution guidelines and other safety/security standards to all work activities.
Essential Duties
Assists with the flow of surgical instrumentation between processing and surgery; reads OR schedule, anticipates needs and sets-up OR with required supplies and equipment, for respective case(s).
Assists in maintaining a clean, sanitary and orderly OR environment.
Assists with patients, to include transporting and assisting with lifting, turning, positioning and preparing patients for surgical procedures.
Uses standard precautions and appropriate personal protective equipment when transporting patients and when working in the OR.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
One year of related work experience in an acute care hospital that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilities.
Post-high school training specific to healthcare (i.e., central processing, health care assistant) preferred.
Work experience in perioperative or as a military medic/corpsman is preferred.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS certification. Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
