Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an Echo Tech/Sonographer, you will perform diagnostic echocardiography procedures to assist in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular conditions.

Every day you will operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality cardiac images and data, ensuring patient comfort and performing a range of echocardiographic studies.

To be successful, you will possess a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, proficient technical skills, and effective communication abilities to provide exceptional diagnostic services.

  • Perform diagnostic echocardiography and ultrasound procedures according to physician orders and departmental protocols to obtain high-quality cardiac images for accurate diagnosis.
  • Prepare and educate patients by explaining procedures, reviewing medical histories, ensuring comfort and safety, and providing compassionate care throughout the examination.
  • Operate, maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with manufacturer and departmental standards.
  • Monitor patient condition during procedures, respond appropriately to emergent situations, communicate significant findings to the care team, and document accurate patient information.
  • Review, compile, and maintain clinical data and diagnostic records to support timely physician interpretation and quality patient care.
  • Support clinic operations through scheduling, patient record management, supply inventory, and effective communication with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary team members while delivering culturally competent care.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound/echo sonography program that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge skills/abilitie, upon hire and
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Adult Echo, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer Pediatric Echo, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, upon hire or
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Fetal Echo, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire


Preferred

  • One year of post-graduate experience in cardiac ultrasound and/or demonstrated high degree of proficiency, knowledge, and acuity in the field of diagnostics or ultrasound
