Responsibilities

This position maximizes reimbursement for transplant services through payer referral / authorization management, patient financial counseling, patient registration, and reimbursement analysis.

Qualifications

This position requires a high school diploma or GED; a minimum of 5 years experience in outpatient group medical practice and/or inpatient acute care setting, with progressively increasing scope of administrative experience and responsibilities, including patient intake, medical terminology, CPT & ICD coding, third party payer referrals and authorizations, third party payer billing and reimbursement, and managed care experience. Knowledge of federal and state End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) financial and regulatory guidelines; strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to communicate effectively; proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Bachelor's degree is preferred.  Also preferred is proficiency in Medicare cost reporting, especially organ acquisition Medicare cost reporting; transplant administrative experience; IDX Billing Accounts Receivable (BAR), IDX Hospital Patient Accounts Billing System (HPA); Accredited Record Technician (ART) and/or Registered Record Administrator (RRA).
