Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Registered Medical Assistant, you will be an indispensable clinical partner, elevating patient care and optimizing physician efficiency through advanced support.

Every day, you will expertly manage clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), accurately perform ancillary healthcare services, and execute specific physician instructions, ensuring precise and efficient patient visits.

To be successful in this role, you will combine advanced clinical proficiency with exceptional attention to detail, a strong aptitude for electronic health records, and a proactive approach to supporting high-quality patient care.

• Performs general medical office duties, including answering phones, making appointments, registering patients, updating medical carts and verifying insurance information and coverage.
• Responds to incoming patient phone calls; answers questions, makes appointments, processes prescription refills and directs/instructs patient and/or family members regarding prescription and treatment instructions according to the provider guidelines and orders.
• Maintains patient medical records, accurately and correctly documents clinical information in the medical record; shares clinical information with internal/external publics in accordance with CHI Franciscan privacy policies and procedures.
• Maintains efficient patient flow by professionally greeting patients, escorting them to the treatment area and updating the medical record with vital sighs and relevant patient history.
• Responds to verbal and electronic patient requests for information and assistance using proper policies, reference tools and provider instructions.
• Coordinates referrals for patient tests, specialist appointments and hospital visits as need as well as ensuring appropriate insurance authorization is obtained if necessary.

Job RequirementsRequired

• Any combination of experience or education that would demonstrate the job knowledge/abilities to perform the duties of the position. and
• Medical Assistant Registration: WA, within 60 Days and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire

Preferred

• One year of work experience as a Medical Assistant
