The posted compensation range of $21.66 - $30.99 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining superior levels of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility. This includes:
- Performing assigned daily cleaning and disinfection of all patient care areas (occupied, discharge, and transfer), medical equipment, and communal spaces.
- Exhibiting a comprehensive understanding of healthcare cleaning and disinfection protocols, including the safe operation of equipment and responsible chemical handling.
- Rigorously adhering to all organizational guidelines pertaining to safety, risk management, and infection control, thereby fostering a secure operational environment.
- Contributing actively to departmental performance improvement endeavors, particularly those aimed at elevating patient experience and cleanliness standards.
- Diligent management of supplies, equipment, and waste disposal in strict compliance with established infection prevention and safety guidelines.
- Demonstrating critical thinking and personal accountability when collaborating with colleagues to execute diverse facility tasks and address operational concerns.
Job Requirements
- Education/Work Experience Requirements
- High School diploma or GED preferred. Previous healthcare experience preferred
- Job Knowledge/Abilities
Can distinguish the differences between levels of disinfection and perform low and intermediate level disinfection. · Ability to explain orally or in writing the differences between levels of disinfection and perform intermediate level disinfection in areas where required. · Ability to operate necessary equipment/machines. · Effectively uses computers and mobile devices. Respectfully listens to viewpoints and ideas of others. Communicates orally or in writing openly and candidly, creates an environment where co-workers and team members reciprocate in kind.
