The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $29.90 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Job Summary and Responsibilities
Job Summary:
In keeping with the Marian Medical Center health care philosophy, the Unit Clerk/Monitor Observer/Nurse's Aide performs such typical distinguishing duties as: providing continuous observation of cardiac monitor patterns and recognizing significant changes in monitor pattern. Uses H.I.S. computer system proficiently. Serves as a unit representative, greets patients, maintains census log books, and provides support to team members as directed by department supervisor or team leader. Provides care for adult patients. Develops collaborative relationships with departmental staff and other disciplines to provide for quality of health care services. Assumes responsibility for competency of practice, continuously evaluates own performance and takes the initiative to be informed of current developments in the field of nursing and in his/her area of clinical specialty.
Job Duties:
- Maintains an orderly inventory of unit supplies and coordinates with unit supervisor to order supplies whenever required in a cost-effective manner.
- Demonstrates the ability and initiative to manage delegated assignments in a timely manner, and utilizes time appropriately including assisting coworkers with varying workloads, cleans and restocks work area, and completing other assigned projects.
- Uses H.I.S. computer system as well as the ScottCare Telemetry system proficiently.
- Maintains Patient's records in an orderly and updated manner, including routing materials, and filing patient reports and orders.
- Insures billing data and departmental census records are accurate and complete in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates the ability and initiative to manage delegated assignments in a timely manner and utilizes time appropriately, including assisting co-workers with varying workloads, cleaning and restocking work area, and completing other assigned projects.
- Provides continuous observation of cardiac monitor patterns and recognition of significant changes in monitor patterns.
- Complies with safety, infection control, CHW Integrity Program, and other organizational policies. (90 day evals - department specific orientation checklists completed; annual evals - annual competency checklists completed)
- Complies with the organization's dress code.
- Arrives at work on time, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.
- Attends work consistently, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.
- Actively supports the organizations mission, philosophy and strategic plan.
- Demonstrates good time management and priority setting.
Job Requirements
Required:
- Successful completion of MMC Monitor Observer exam and of annual Monitor Observer Re-certification exam.
- Completion of unit clerk class or equivalent work experience.
- Nurse assistants/unit clerks without acute care experience within the last two years will be considered on an individual basis.
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA (CNA:CA)
- Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) within 30 days of hire.
Preferred:
- Previous nurse assistant unit clerk experience
