Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an EKG Tech, you will play a crucial role in cardiovascular diagnostics by performing electrocardiograms to assist physicians in identifying and evaluating heart conditions. You will operate specialized equipment to record the electrical activity of the heart.

Every day you will interact directly with patients, explaining procedures, ensuring comfort, and accurately attaching electrodes for precise EKG readings. You will manage patient information, maintain equipment, and prepare results for physician review, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

To be successful, you will demonstrate exceptional precision in EKG procedures, a strong understanding of cardiac anatomy, and medical terminology.

  • Demonstrates proficient clerical skills and CRT skills.
  • Maintains a positive environment within the unit. Presents a positive, professional image to physicians, nurses, family and visitors, both in person as well as over the phone.
  • Maintains orderly inventory of office supplies, and coordinates the ordering of these supplies.
  • Cleans and restocks work area.
  • Correctly schedules procedures per physician request and department policy
  • Accurately enters data for departmental charges.

Required

  • Completion of approved Unit Clerk course or equivalent (i.e., Medical Assistant ), upon hire 
  • None, upon hire


Preferred

  • Experience in an acute care setting 
  • Individuals without acute care experience will be considered on an individual basis
