The posted compensation range of $59.69 - $71.53 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
Position Title:Manager of Environmental Services
Position Summary:
Manages the daily operations of the Environmental Services department, including supervision of staff and responsibility for the sanitation, infection control and patient satisfaction outcomes of the department. Ensures a consistent high level of quality that meets budgetary, regulatory and departmental standards..
- Maintains adequate staffing for daily needs reflecting cost efficiency. Trains, assigns and directs the work of staff. Assists with the preparation of the budget and contributes to the development of short -term operational plans for the department.
- Maintains communication with patient, staff, and customers regarding the level of services they receive from Environmental Services staff, and promotes patient satisfaction in environmental services (i.e. cleanliness scores). Conducts rounding with patients and staff and ensures their feedback is considered in continuous improvement. Maintains log of of patient and staff feedback is considered in continuous improvement.
- Surveys regularly all departmental procedures for adherence to sanitation, infection control, regulatory compliance, safety and patient confidentiality standards. Provides an ongoing effective in-service program for all employees of the Environmental Service Department. Maintains regulatory compliance and infection control practices.
- Assists with reviewing and maintaining all vendor contracts, monitors the contracts in use and recommends effective utilize vendors to achieve the best possible cost.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of organization's budget process and ability to apply policies and practices for planning and administering a budget.
- Knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools and techniques in a healthcare environment; ability to apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment for patients and facility staff.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local healthcare related laws and regulations; ability to comply with these in healthcare practices and activities.
- Knowledge of customer service concepts and techniques; ability to meet or exceed customer needs and expectations and provide excellent service in a direct or indirect manner.
- Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply this knowledge appropriately to diverse situations.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local healthcare related laws and regulations; ability to comply with these in healthcare practices and activities.
- Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques and ability to understand, monitor, update, or enhance existing business or work processes.
- Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
Education and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of one (1) year EVS management experience in related field
- Education: Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and/or additional job related experience.

Qualifications
Three (3) years experience performing Ultrasound procedures in an acute facility if not RDMS. Entry level for RDMS 0-3 years experience. Demonstrates knowledge in both general and cross-sectional anatomy and physiology. Must have working knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound imaging procedures. Must also know departmental protocols and procedures. Ability to work tactfully and effectively with fellow staff members, physicians and the patient population. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Self-motivated and able to achieve results through good organizational skills. Ability to work independently and be a functional team member in a team-oriented environment. Current RDMS or RDMS eligible, ECE to maintain certification, current BLS CPR card.Overview
