Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Radiologic Technologist (Rad Tech), you will be pivotal in producing diagnostic images that enable Radiologists to accurately diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Each day, you will perform a variety of imaging examinations, including X-rays, ultrasound, diagnostic fluoroscopy, CT/CAT scans, and MRIs, while actively contributing to a positive patient experience through direct interaction.

To excel, you must deeply understand diagnostic imaging's critical importance, encompassing expertise in workflow, patient positioning, and capturing precise results essential for timely and accurate diagnoses.

  • Clinical Competency:

    Performs routine diagnostic imaging procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician.



    Performs fluoroscopy/minor special procedures in accordance with department standards and in keeping with the orders of the referring physician.



    Demonstrates competence in film-processing procedures.



    Demonstrates appropriate administering and monitoring of radiopaque material per Marian Medical Center standards.



    Places orders in the HIS system, making all additions, corrections, and cancellations as necessary.



    Identifies and initiates accurate assessment of life-threatening conditions.

  • Patient Care:

    Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required.



    Transfers and positions patients.

  • Department Support:

    Participates in departmental meetings, in-services and committees.



    Responds to changes in work schedule as necessary. Takes evening, weekend and holiday standby on a rotating basis.



    Performs other duties as necessary.



    Troubleshoots equipment and cooperates with service personnel in order to maintain minimal down time. Responsible for initiating service on all equipment assigned to the area.

  • Safety:

    Practices radiation safety in accordance with Marian Medical Center policies and procedures.



    Uses sterile technique and prevents cross-contamination.

  • Compliance with Policy and Procedures:

    Complies with safety, infection control, CHW Integrity Program, and other organizational policies. (90 day evals - department specific orientation checklists completed; annual evals - annual competency checklists completed)



    Complies with the organization's dress code.



    Arrives at work on time, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.



    Attends work consistently, as defined by the Timeliness and Attendance Policy.

  • Other Staff Responsibilities:

    Actively supports the organizations mission, philosophy and strategic plan.



    Demonstrates good time management and priority setting.

Job Requirements

Required

  • 1-3 years One year experience as a certified Radiologic Technologist. New graduates, with clinical experience through approved ARRT Radiologic Technology program, will be considered on an individual basis.
  • Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT, upon hire and
  • Medical Radiographer: CA, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
