Responsibilities

In keeping with the Dignity Health Central Coast health care philosophy the Pharmacist Clinical ensures the quality of pharmaceutical services by developing and coordinating clinical service programs focused on quality assurance activities educational endeavors clinically specialized services and monitoring and evaluation of drug therapy.  Per Diem position that would float to any one of 3 Infusion Centers.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Two to three years experience as a clinical pharmacist.
  • B.S. Pharmacy; or M.S. Pharmacy, or Pharm. D.
  • REGISTERED PHARMACIST (RG PHARMST).
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with all levels of hospital staff, physicians, and the general public.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Program Management

  • Previous Oncology experience

  • PGY1 and/or PGY2 Oncology

  • BCOP

Overview

Dignity Health is committed to providing cutting-edge oncology patient care through innovative and comprehensive infusion services.  We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced clinical pharmacist to provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services within our Oncology/Specialty Infusion Centers on the North Central Coast.  

This role requires a strong understanding of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapies, sterile compounding, regulatory compliance and clinical program development. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in optimizing medication management programs, development and implementation of clinical/operations protocols, and be passionate to serve as a resource for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. In this role, you will have the opportunity to participate in clinical trials, develop and implement new treatment protocols, and contribute to the advancement of oncology pharmacy practice. 

Dignity Health is the only program on the Central Coast to offer comprehensive Cancer Care services. Our pharmacists work closely with our Medical Oncologists, community physicians and Oncology Nursing staff to provide optimal care and outcomes to the patients we serve.

In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy the Clinical Pharmacist Specialist is responsible for providing leadership and clinical pharmacy services, including the implementation of System, Region, and Facility Pharmacy Services initiatives.

The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist  is responsible for the provision of drug information to other health care professionals, patients, their families and the public.  Functions as a staff pharmacist and acts as a clinical pharmacy leader in establishing, maintaining and expanding clinical pharmacy programs.  The Clinical Pharmacist Specialist mentors and educates pharmacists and technicians and works collaboratively with Physicians, Nurses and other allied staff to advance clinical pharmacy practices, protocols and support functions. Under the direct supervision of the Manager/Director of Pharmacy is responsible for maintaining and advancing clinical pharmacy services. Responsible for staff functions when working an operational shift. Directly responsible to the Manager/Director of Pharmacy.
