Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Perinatal LVN, you will perform a diverse range of assigned duties to support comprehensive patient care for all ages within the perinatal unit, working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Your contributions will be essential to our patient-centered care.

Every day, you will administer medications, collect lab samples, perform vital patient assessments, and execute various skilled nursing procedures as per your scope of practice. You will provide essential education and support to mothers and newborns, assist with patient mobility and safety, and contribute to surgical support as needed. Additionally, you will support departmental activities, maintain accurate records, and ensure operational readiness, always reporting patient status observations to the Registered Nurse.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong clinical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient and family care. Your ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks, collaborate effectively within the healthcare team, and adhere strictly to medical protocols and organizational policies will be essential in ensuring optimal outcomes for our perinatal population.

  • Demonstrates perinatal/neonatal vocational nursing skills including but not limited to vital signs, heights and weights. Documents care provided per facility policy in EHR
  • Consistently and accurately documents patient history and education regarding advance directives upon admission
  • Reports observations regarding patient's status to the registered nurse. Identify patient deterioration requiring immediate interventions and care. Responds to urgent/emergent situations. Advocates for patient and families to improve health care.
  • Assists in patient admission, transfer or discharge. Moves, lifts, ambulates and transports patients safely.
  • Assists physicians and nursing staff with assigned procedures
  • LVN Skill set: insertion/removal of IV's, foley catheters. Performs POC testing

Job Requirements

Required

  • Licensed Vocational Nurse: CA, upon hire 
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days a
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program, within 30 Days 
  • Expanded IV Therapy Course, upon hire


Preferred

  • One (1) year current experience in an acute care setting or specialty area., upon hire
