The posted compensation range of $53.15 - $63.18 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Pediatric Occupational Therapist, you will help support and promote the provision of quality patient care under the direction of Registered Occupational Therapist Supervisor. Actively provides Occupational Therapy services to patients/residents, including evaluation and assessment, treatment program planning and implementation, related documentation and communication. Provides direct supervision of COTAs, students, volunteers and aides. Assists in the development and implementation of new programs and groups.
Every day you will Responds to requests for service and initiates referrals when appropriate. Following screening to determine need for intervention. Assesses patients/residents to obtain and interpret data necessary for treatment planning and implementation per physician's orders. Interprets evaluation findings to patients/residents, family, significant others and care team.
To be successful in this role, you must
- Develop treatment plans, including goals and methods to achieve identified goals.
- Coordinate treatment plans with patients/residents, family, significant others and care team.
- Implement treatment directly or supervises treatment by a certified Occupational Therapy assistant and/or an Occupational Therapy aide.
- Evaluate appropriateness of the total services delivered and of individual Occupational Therapy programs for effectiveness and efficiency, using predetermined criteria.
- Communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately
- Establish and maitain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of the principles, practices, standards, and techniques of how to use and maintain Occupational Therapy equipment
- Knowledge of safety and body mechanics to avoid injury to self or patients
- Skill in writing reports, preparring correspondence, and keeping patient care records
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effect working relationships with patient/residents, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to evaluate utilization statistics and other data
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Ability to perform functions within established productivity standards
Required
- Two (2) or more years experience as a Registered Occupational Therapist
- Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Certification Board (AOTCB) or satisfatcion of any current state legal requirements
- Competency as a general practitioner of Occupational Therapy as defined by AOTA
- Registered Occupation Therapist license (RG OT)
- Current and valid CPR-AHA certifcation (CT CPRBLS)
Preferred
- Membership in the AOTA
