Responsibilities
In keeping with the Marian Regional Medical Center health care philosophy the PBX Operator / Front Desk Receptionist serves as the first representative of the facility to many patients and visitors. The incumbent is responsible for receiving and welcoming guests to Marian Regional Medical Center lobby and communicating and facilitating the visitor policy. Duties include greeting visitors and appropriately distributing and collecting visitor badges for entrance to the facility. The position will work in coordination with Volunteers Admitting and PBX staff. In the PBX operator role the incumbent provides communication services within the organization treating the caller in a respectful and courteous manner. The operator is responsible for the telecommunications system as well as connectivity to a number of other services including the nurse-call system paging and monitoring of all alarms. The operator is responsible for projecting a positive image to all in need of telecommunication services. This position is also responsible for a variety of other clerical assignments and duties as assigned by Management.
Qualifications
Minimum
One year receptionist experience desirable.
Preferred
Receptionist experience preferably in a health care setting.
Oral and written fluency in both English and Spanish is highly desirable.
Ability to cope with multiple distractions and interruptions at the same time.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Excellent communication (verbal and written)
