The posted compensation range of $32.38 - $48.17 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Physical Therapist , you be responsible for providing physical therapy assessments and treatments to patients.
Every day you will Identify and report patient abuse and neglect i.e.: physical assault, domestic abuse and neglect of elders and children.
To be successful in this role, you must
- Accurately identify patient's functional deficits/dysfunction through review of the medical record, through observation of the patient, through information obtained from the patient/family, and through manual muscle testing, range of motion testing, postural analysis, functional analysis and other physical therapy assessment techniques. Accurately interprets the physician's order.
- Effectively communicates with other members of the healthcare team regarding goals, progress and rehab potential. Works as a collaborative member of the treatment team. Attends any necessary and appropriate patient care meetings, such as mini rounds, weekly patient care conference, weekly NICU discharge meetings, etc
- Presents at least one departmental or hospital inservice per year. Keeps abreast of current trends and other developments in Rehabilitation as evidenced by participation and attendance of inservices, continuing education courses, and current professional publications. Sufficient CE hours for maintenance of licensure including CE courses necessary to attain expertise appropriate for clinical level II.
- Terminas treatment appropriately when patient has met goals, shows plateau of progress, or is no longer authorized for treatment. Plans for the patient's discharge in adequate time for appropriate referrals to be made. Makes appropriate recommendations for referrals at next level of care, including outpatient therapy, home health and MTU
- Effective oral and written communication skills, clearly, concisely, accurately. Possesses good interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrates basic knowledge of the principles, techniques and procedures within the scope of their practice as Licensed Physical Therapist Assistants.
- Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
- Demonstrates ability to function in a team environment, collaborating with other patient-care team members, physicians, patient, and their families.
- Ability to teach techniques and procedures of physical therapy to patients and their family. Able to work with minimal supervision.

Job RequirementsRequired
- One (1) Year Acute Care or SNF experience within the last 5 years required.
- Graduate of accredited physical therapy assistant program
- Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant in the State of California. (LIC PTA)
- California Drivers License (CA DL)
- Liability Insurance
Current CPR through American Heart Association (CT CPRBLS)
