Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Occupational Therapist, you will help Marian Regional Medical Center Hospice patients perform all phases of occupational therapy evaluation, treatment planning, and treatment so they can regain or improve functional independence and enhance their quality of life in a home healthcare setting.

Every day you will evaluate patients, participate in treatment program planning, and administer occupational therapy modalities, procedures, and tests.

To be successful in this role, you must have graduated from an accredited school of occupational therapy, possess a current California OT license, and be adept at teaching patients and caregivers functional activities and treatment techniques.

  • Perform patient initial and re-evaluations, establishing and implementing effective treatment plans.
  • Administer treatment plans using accepted therapy procedures, overseeing therapist extenders (aides) in their implementation.
  • Teach patients and/or caregivers functional activities and treatment techniques as appropriate to meet their needs.
  • Document daily on appropriate forms using clear and concise data, recording treatments accurately and communicating patient status/progress monthly.
  • Communicate regularly with other members of the medical team regarding goals, progress, and rehabilitative potential, working as a collaborative team member.
  • Maintain the standards of conduct as promulgated by the American Occupational Therapy Association and adhere to the professional code of ethics.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of an accredited school of occupational therapy (accredited jointly by AOTA and by the Council on Medical Education of the AMA)
  • Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the State of California
  • Basic Life Support – Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (BLS-CPR)
  • Driver's License: California
  • Auto Insurance

Preferred

  • Two (2) Years Of Experience as an occupational therapist
  • Previous hand therapy experience
