Job Summary and Responsibilities

As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) examinations to assist in diagnosing medical conditions.

Every day you will prepare patients for scans, operate advanced MRI equipment, ensure patient safety in the magnetic environment, and accurately capture detailed anatomical images.

To be successful, you will demonstrate expert technical proficiency in MRI, meticulous attention to detail for image quality and safety, and excellent patient communication to ensure a comfortable and effective diagnostic experience.

  • SCHEDULE EXAMS: Inform all patients of preparations for procedure. Block out appropriate amounts of time for each exam.
  • DEMONSTRATE PROFICIENCY AT PERFORMING MRI EXAM: Evaluate proper scanning protocol for each patient with radiologist. Critique films on each case with radiologist input. Less than 5% repeat rate. Maintain proficiency in all areas of MRI scanning.
  • ASSESS/PREPARE PATIENTS FOR MRI EXAM: Assure that patients have filled out questionnaire. Evaluate ability of patient to be scanned. Explain procedure to patient.
  • PERFORM PROPER ROOM SET-UP FOR SPECIAL PROCEDURES. SUPPLY CONTROL: Utilize proper sterile technique 100% of the time for special procedures. Perform equipment and room cleaning after each exam. Change linen after each use. Clean room as needed and keep stocked. Have supplies for each exam available for use.
  • ASSIST RADIOLOGIST: Assist radiologist when indicated.
  • MONITOR ALL EQUIPMENT USE AND FUNCTION: Report all malfunctions of equipment to Radiology Admin. Fill out appropriate paperwork, if indicated. Follow directions of appropriate person in repair or adjusting use of equipment.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days and
  • ARMRIT MRI, upon hire or
  • Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging, upon hire


Preferred

  • Associate Of Arts and 6 months experience, upon hire
