The posted compensation range of $44.00 - $44.00 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
Responsible for assistance and transportation of patients and patient related items as requested within the campus. This position is highly customer sensitive, with the customer being defined as patient, patient family, visitor, physician, other departments and staff.
- Transports patients in a safe, prompt and courteous manner between hospital locations as assigned by nursing personnel, taking into account the patient's age and cultural related needs.
- Transports discharged patients from nursing unit as assigned and provides assistance in transfer to vehicles as necessary.
- Assists nursing personnel in transferring patients to and from beds, chairs, wheelchairs and gurneys.
- Transports items including medications and other material as assigned.
- Responds to code blue for the purpose of performing CPR and performing as messenger or transporter.
- Transports patients utilizing equipment (wheelchairs, gurneys, liko-lifts, etc) in accordance with Safe Patient Handling standards and policy.
- High School Graduate General Studies, upon hire or
- High School GED General Studies, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
