Job Summary and Responsibilities
As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will be a pivotal member of our cardiac team, performing crucial diagnostic testing to accurately diagnose and guide the treatment of patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions.
Every day, you will apply your independent judgment and advanced technical skills to perform state-of-the-art imaging procedures for patients presenting with conditions such as heart failure, heart rhythm disorders, and acute myocardial infarction, supporting decisions from minimally invasive interventions to major structural repairs.
To be successful in this role, you must possess a solid understanding of echocardiography imaging equipment, master proper patient positioning techniques, and expertly produce and analyze high-quality cardiac ultrasound images. Above all, you will continuously strive to deliver an exceptional and positive experience to our patients and their caregivers.
- Performs all diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operates associated equipment, computers, and accessories in accordance with department standards and physician orders.
- Accurately assesses and responds to life-threatening conditions. Adapts readily to changes in work schedule and STAT exam requests.
- Troubleshoots equipment and cooperates with service personnel in order to maintain minimal down time. Initiates service calls on all equipment assigned to the area.
- Accurately processes daily charges for exams and supplies upon completion of work. Ensures rooms and equipment are maintained in accordance with departmental standards.
- Under the guidance of the Lead Technologist, coordinates technical tasks and manages patient flow, ensuring that all scans adhere to the quality standards defined by the Cardiologists.
- Interviews patients for pertinent medical history and obtains consents on patients prior to performing studies as required.
Required
- Certificate Other Graduate of an accredited school of cardiac or cardiovascular technology program. and less than 1 year Must have recent (within the last 6 months) hands on scanning experience either as an echocardiography student or as a sonographer. , upon hire or
- Associates Of Science A.S. degree and/or graduate of an accredited school of cardiac or cardiovascular technology program. and less than 1 year Zero (0) to three (3) years experience in cardiac ultrasound procedures., upon hire and
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer CCI, within 12 - months or
- Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, within 12 - months and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
