Responsibilities

The Ultrasound Technologist, under the direct supervision of the Ultrasound Charge Technologist and Director of Imaging, performs routine diagnostic ultrasound procedures while adhering to established standards and departmental policies. This role plays a vital part in delivering high-quality imaging services and ensuring patient care excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to departmental policies and established standards.
  • Prepare ultrasound images for interpretation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procedures.
  • Assist with scheduling procedures, answering telephones, and maintaining effective communication with departmental and hospital staff.
  • Demonstrate behavior consistent with the Mission and Core Values of St. Bernardine Medical Center.
  • Support the hospital’s strategic plan and actively participate in quality improvement and process enhancement initiatives.

This position requires technical proficiency, attention to detail, and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals. The Ultrasound Technologist is an integral part of the team dedicated to advancing the Mission and goals of St. Bernardine Medical Center.


Qualifications
  • One year experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer in a hospital/clinic setting preferred.
  • American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (A.R.D.M.S) required.
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Registered Vascular Tech (RVT) preferred.
