Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our RN Per Diem I - Emergency Services, you will be a vital member of our patient care team, delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.
Every day you will perform clinical assessments and risk screenings, develop age-specific care plans, and prioritize care based on patient acuity. You will execute physician orders, manage medications, and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient flow. Throughout your shift, you will communicate effectively with patients and families, provide thorough bedside reports, and document care accurately while maintaining a commitment to patient satisfaction.
To be successful in this role, you will combine robust clinical expertise with technological proficiency, a commitment to AIDET principles, and a patient-centered approach. You will demonstrate strong communication skills, an ability to anticipate complications, and the flexibility to adapt care plans to meet the unique, ever-changing needs of our emergency patients.
Per Diem I Requirements: Must agree to work 1 major & 1 minor holiday per year, 6 shifts per a 6 week period, and 2 of which should be a wekeend shift per a 6 week period.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment & Planning: Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, develop age-appropriate care plans, and initiate clinical protocols based on patient acuity.
- Clinical Care: Execute physician orders accurately, administer medications safely, and proactively anticipate potential complications to prevent or limit adverse outcomes.
- Monitoring & Evaluation: Perform ongoing reassessments, evaluate the effectiveness of interventions, and immediately report significant changes in patient status to the physician.
- Patient Education: Identify learning barriers and provide clear, effective education to patients and families, ensuring they understand the plan of care and discharge instructions.
- Emergency Response: Recognize life-threatening complications and initiate emergency procedures immediately.
- Communication & Teamwork: Act as a role model for patient satisfaction by utilizing AIDET principles; provide thorough bedside shift reports and maintain professional collaboration with the entire healthcare team.
Required
- Minimum of two (2) years experience acute care RN nursing
- Graduate of accredited Registered Nurse (RN) program
- Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire and
- Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire and
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire
