Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Respiratory Therapy Clinical Specialist, you will serve as a lead professional responsible for delivering high-level respiratory care, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and advanced airway management. You will act as a key clinical resource, providing expert guidance to nursing staff and ensuring all patient care is delivered within the established guidelines of our hospital policies and procedures.

Every day you will perform complex respiratory diagnostics and therapeutic interventions, maintaining a standard of excellence in emergency and routine care. You will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to stabilize patients, manage airway equipment, and provide clinical support that directly impacts patient outcomes and enhances the overall standard of respiratory care within the facility.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate advanced clinical competency and strong leadership abilities. We are looking for a skilled practitioner who can remain calm under pressure, communicate effectively with medical staff, and serve as a reliable mentor to others while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols and hospital-wide clinical standards.

  • Demonstrates knowledge regarding infant, pediatric and adult pulmonary disease processes and appropriate respiratory care interventions.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of applicable ventilator modalities and applications in the acute and sub-acute settings.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of applicable infant and pediatric ventilator modalities and applications in the sub-acute setting.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of respiratory pharmacology, including recommended dosing, indications, and contraindications of each drug.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of therapeutic management and monitoring of the sick neonate.
  • Provides safe and effective therapeutic administration of aerosolized medications to the tracheal bronchial tree through nebulized medications and IPPB.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Graduate of accredited Respiratory Therapy program. 
  • Two years of acute care experience, including critical care and neonatal intensive care.
  • Leadership experience as a lead or supervisor
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner: CA
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
