Responsibilities

The Radiographer II under the general supervision of the Department of Medical Imaging Management and under the direction of the Radiologist performs high quality diagnostic imaging exams and other duties as assigned within the California State and national license scope of practice. Responsible for operating complex imaging equipment both mobile and stationary in various patient care settings for purposes of obtaining quality diagnostic images in at least two modalities. Inputs and retrieves data from the Hospital Information System (HIS) Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS). Works assigned shifts within the department performing any and all job assignments in an accurate and timely manner. This position requires the full understanding and activeparticipation in fulfilling the Mission of Community Hospital of San Bernardino. Qualifications
  • Two (2) years experience in an acute care hospital setting performing a variety of general diagnostic procedures utilizing ionizing radiation is preferred. Experience with digital imaging systems PACS and basic health care informatics is desired.
  • Graduate from an accredited JRCERTMedical Radiography School and have passed the entry level radiography board examination from the ARRT.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification (either state or national where appropriate) in two advanced imaging modalities. May include: Radiology and Fluoroscopy (ARRT and CRT)  Computed Tomography (CT- ARRT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR- ARRT) or Sonography (ARDMS). (i.e. Nuclear Medicine).
  • California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist Permit must be obtained within 6 months of hire date. Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate required.
  • ACR recognized certifications from additional licensing authorities for Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging will be considered. 

Cardiovascular Imaging Specialist: are required to have documented competency in lieu of state or national licensure for a second modality. ARRT certification in Cardiovascular Imaging is preferred
