The posted compensation range of $79.31 - $79.31 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.
Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment.
To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.
- Performs patient evaluations appropriately and competently. Coordinates with the physician to establish a reasonable and necessary treatment plan with effective remedial techniques.
- Demonstrates competency in the use of equipment in the area of assignment, inpatient and/or outpatient services. Implements age-appropriate safeguards.
- Performs age-appropriate patient procedures and treatments appropriately and competently.
- Updates, as needed, the treatment/rehab program, goals, and objectives in collaboration with team members
- Promotes the discharge planning process.
- Promotes maintenance of direct patient care records. Identifies, documents, and reports abnormal findings.
- Promotes maintenance of non-direct support documentation.
- Maintains currency with all patients in area of assignment.
- Appropriately implements doctor orders and communicates with doctors in a timely manner.
- Independently assesses special learning needs of the patient and provides appropriate assistance to meet the needs.
- Incorporates the patient/family goals into the treatment plan.
- Educates and instructs patient/family in appropriate home/follow-up program to promote patient progress.
- Identifies and integrates effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the organizational structure and lines of authority (assistant, therapist, senior, supervisor, director, administrator).
- Participates in at least one interdisciplinary team or committee.
- Gather and analyzes complete information before taking or recommending a course of action
- Identifies and participates in development/revision of appropriate protocols/procedures/policies.
- Provides appropriate and accurate documentation to support the PI/CQI indicators.
- dentifies and communicates needs for inservices or assist in setting up or giving department specific programs or seeks resources from other departments/staff to provide inservices.
- Assists in the orientation of new staff to basic department functions and or acts as preceptor/mentor for new staff.
- Identifies and implements method to improve performance.
- Assumes responsibility for remaining current regarding departmental information. Attends staff meetings and shares departmental information with other staff.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development and continuing education. Remains current in field of Physical Therapy.
- Participates intra/extra departmental educational programs. (OCEP, Annual Updates, etc.)
- Assist in the development of department policies and procedures.
- Insures educational experiences for interns and externs. Collaborates with director and senior in the management of clinical affiliations.
- participates in the marketing of Physical Therapy. Represents the profession of PT and the Rehab department well.
- Identifies and supports with management transitions and administrative changes.
