The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $29.90 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
As a Patient Registration Representative at St. Bernardine Medical Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience for patients. You will assist with patient registration, identification, and financial coordination, serving as a key point of contact for patients and their families. Your work will help support hospital operations while ensuring that all necessary information is collected accurately and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with check-in and registration, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information is collected
- Verify patient identification and coordinate bed assignments as needed
- Provide financial counseling, including explaining patient responsibilities and payment options
- Address non-clinical patient needs and respond to inquiries with professionalism and compassion
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies and support the strategic goals of St. Bernardine Medical Center

Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Thorough understanding of insurance policies and procedures.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Able to perform basic mathematics for payment calculation.
- Experience in requesting and processing financial payments.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Knowledge of charity care programs as well as the various government and non-government programs preferred.
