Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an MRI Technologist, you will be a central figure in our diagnostic imaging team, expertly performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scans to produce precise images critical for patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
Every day, you will meticulously position patients, operate advanced MRI scanning equipment according to physician orders and established protocols, and administer contrast media safely and effectively. You will also provide essential patient education and psychological support, monitor patient conditions closely during scans, maintain meticulous records, and perform daily quality assurance checks on equipment, all while strictly adhering to crucial MRI safety guidelines and regulatory standards.
To be successful in this role, you will combine a nationally recognized certification/licensure in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), specialized advanced certification in MRI, and a profound understanding of cross-sectional anatomy and MRI physics.
- Is a role model for the Hospital's Patient Satisfaction effort, i.e. demonstrates AIDET principles when interacting with customers, subordinates and colleagues.
- Responsible for assuring safe equipment operation before attempting any radiology procedure. Troubleshoots equipment, reports all equipment downtime and malfunctions to the shift supervisor and cooperates with service personnel for repair. Regularly monitors all equipment and performs QA checks.
- Transports patients to the MRI department utilizing safe equipment transportation protocols.
- Demonstrates good customer service skills by greeting the patient, introducing himself/herself, explaining the procedure and following up on all reasonable customer requests.
- Transfers patients to the MRI table or transportation device utilizing proper body mechanics, appropriate equipment and safe patient handling methods. Demonstrates the ability to implement appropriate safeguards for patients or customers of various age groups.
Job Requirements
Required
- Graduate of a school of Radiologic Technology.
- One year experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital setting or one year experience as a MRI Technologist.
- Medical Radiographer: CA
- AHA Basic Life Support - CPR
- Registered Technologist Radiography ARRT
- Registered Technologist Magnetic Resonance Imaging
Preferred
- One year experience as a MRI Technologist in a hospital setting
