Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Mental Health Worker, you will perform assigned patient care activities as a vital member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, providing essential support for the patient's therapeutic treatment plan. Every day you will observe and meticulously record patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, promptly reporting this information to the Staff Registered Nurse. You must also be capable of physically assisting patients and effectively dealing with patient emergencies.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate an exceptional ability to observe and accurately document patient behavior, react effectively in emergency situations, and collaborate seamlessly as a member of a clinical team.

  • Communicates, records, and reports promptly to the licensed nursing personnel vitals, treatment results, changes in patients condition, observations, patient complaints, and other pertinent information regarding the patient.
  • Promptly answers patients requests.
  • Follow-up on patient care responsibilities and assignments left from previous shift and reports to team leader any incomplete assignments to ensure continuity of care.
  • Performs direct patient care activities for specific patient population according to established policies and procedures; adapts techniques to unique needs of each patient.
  • Responsible for the cleaning and organizing patient room, clothing and belongings.
  • Maintains supplies in a safe and efficient manner and reports maintenance and repairs as needed.
Job Requirements

Required

  • Minimum of one (1) year Mental Health Worker experience working with psychiatric patients either in an inpatient, residential, outpatient setting or comparable equivalent
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: CA or Emergency Medical Technician: CA
  • AHA Basic Life Support
