The posted compensation range of $24.00 - $27.21 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
The Medical Assistant provides patient care under the clinical supervision of a Physician Assistant, delivering services aligned with individual needs, clinician requests, and standard care practices. This role encompasses both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure a high level of patient satisfaction in a cost-effective manner. Employees are expected to perform their duties in alignment with the vision, values, and guiding principles of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain and document vital signs, reasons for visits, and patient medication lists.
- Prepare patients and examination rooms for clinical evaluations and treatments.
- Assist clinicians with procedures, reinforce patient education, and schedule follow-up appointments.
- Manage front-office duties, including scheduling, phone triage, medical record management, and patient transportation arrangements.
- Adhere to hospital and departmental policies, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and standards for Medical Assistants.
This position requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to providing exceptional customer service, and a proactive approach to supporting the operational and clinical goals of the department.
Qualifications
- Neurosurgery Experience Highly Preferred
Medical Assistant Certification and AHA-Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)
High school graduate or equivalent
- At least one year of clinical/patient care experience is required
- Clinical experience equivalent to Medical Assistant is preferred
- Computer literate with keyboard skills
- Good communication skills
