Responsibilities
As a Registered Dietitian at Community Hospital of San Bernardino, you will play an essential role in promoting the nutritional well-being of patients across diverse age groups and cultural backgrounds. This position involves conducting comprehensive nutrition assessments, identifying malnutrition and related diagnoses, and developing personalized care plans that align with each patient's clinical condition and goals. You will provide tailored nutritional education and support, using motivational interviewing and evidence-based interventions to help patients understand and manage their health. In collaboration with interdisciplinary care teams, you will help ensure an optimal patient experience while supporting compliance with all relevant regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct nutrition screenings and detailed assessments for patients at nutritional risk.
- Identify and diagnose malnutrition and related conditions using clinical judgment and established guidelines.
- Develop and update individualized nutrition care plans, providing follow-up as needed.
- Deliver nutrition education to patients, families, and caregivers using patient-centered communication.
- Collaborate with clinical staff, diet clerks, and food service teams to ensure quality and efficiency in care delivery.
- Participate in menu development, maintain the diet manual, and support regulatory and infection control compliance.
- Represent the Nutrition Services department on hospital committees as needed and may serve as the lead dietitian.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with completion of accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics.)
- Experience with specific patient populations (e.g. pediatric bariatric ICU etc.) may be required. Two (2) years of experience as a hospital clinical dietitian.
- Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Current (within the past 12 months) ServSafe® Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
