The posted compensation range of $36.96 - $53.60 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Responsibilities
- Conducts patient screening in accordance with specialized clinical guidelines for those at a specific nutritional risk. Completes a thorough nutrition assessment and diagnosis considering the clinical condition varied needs of age-specific populations as well as cultural religious and ethnic backgrounds. Uses clinical judgment to identify malnutrition and other nutrition diagnoses. Closely monitors evaluates and re-screens patient nutrition status as appropriate. Updates plan of care as necessary. Follows up with patient as needed. Promotes a positive patient experience by maintaining communication with patients staff and guests and providing excellent customer service.
- Supports patient interactive positions (i.e. dietitians diet clerks etc.) and provides for the operational needs of these positions. Collaborates in maintaining regulatory compliance (including TJC CMS state specific department of health etc.) and infection control practices. Supports in maintaining adequate staffing for clinical daily needs reflecting cost efficiency.
- Implements targeted and specific nutrition intervention(s) based on the specific medical condition. Conducts motivational interviews and provides customized nutrition education to patients and/or families and caregivers. Actively participates as a member of the multi-specialty interdisciplinary care team to contribute toward overall patient care.
- Collaborates in the process of menu development for patient cafeteria and catering services. Supports in managing the facility diet manual as well as patient diet and nutritional compliance and participates in hospital committees as needed (e.g. Quality and P&T committees). May also act as the highest ranking Registered Dietitian as needed.
Qualifications
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree with completion of accredited dietitian program (ACEND - Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition Dietetics.)
- Experience with specific patient populations (e.g. pediatric bariatric ICU etc.) may be required. Two (2) years of experience as a hospital clinical dietitian.
Licensure:
- Valid registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Current (within the past 12 months) ServSafe® Allergen and Food Handler Certifications. If not currently certified certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
