The posted compensation range of $25.19 - $28.25 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. Our Unit Secretary position is critical to the success of Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital and require the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
The Unit Secretary is responsible for secretarial functions, phone courtesy, medical records and overall clerical support for the Med/Surg unit.

Qualifications
REQUIREMENTS:
- High school graduate or the equivalent Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Able to read, write and spell in English with legible handwriting.
- Must have knowledge of general Medical/Surgical unit activities and organization Must understand principles of universal precautions.
- Able to do work in spite of frequent interruptions.
- Ability to read work product of others, computer/monitor screens, computer printouts.
- Demonstrated skills in dealing with the public and telephone courtesy.
- Able to perform mathematical calculations.
- High level of concentration and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with a team and prioritize work.
- CPR required.
PREFERRED:
- Minimum of 1 year clerical experience preferred
