Our Ultrasound Technologist positions are critical to the success of Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital and require the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health. It is expected that our employees demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values.
The Ultrasound Technologist combines technical and clinical knowledge to produce diagnostic quality scans and tests to demonstrate presence or absence of disease, progress of fetal growth, interventional procedures such as aspirations and biopsies, and non-invasive vascular exams for subsequent evaluation by attending physicians and radiologists.
Qualifications
Minimum
- One year experience in ultrasound capacity (School included)
- Current ARDMS Certification in General Ultrasound Technology
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR
- Working knowledge of ultrasound QC requirements
- Thorough understanding of basic anatomy
- Have full working knowledge of ultrasound equipment, scan methods, normal/abnormal anatomy, clinical conditions encountered in abdominal, OB/GYN and vascular sonography
- Knowledge of ultrasound physics and cardiovascular hemodynamics.
- Demonstrated skill in using multiple types of ultrasound equipment and transducers to obtain optimal scans and tests
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Good working knowledge of Windows based computers and software Must be able to work independently and be available to participate in the on-call rotation
