Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist/EKG, you will help Mark Twain Medical Center and its patients by performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tasks, including phlebotomy and EKG services, so they can receive accurate and timely diagnostic support for their healthcare needs.
Every day you will facilitate and document the flow of patient specimens, prepare specimens for automated processing, and diligently complete all patient and client billing. You will be expected to perform venipuncture or skin punctures on patients across various hospital drawing stations, accurately record test information, and potentially teach new employees essential lab assistant skills.
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a high level of concentration and attention to detail, possess the ability to work effectively despite frequent interruptions, communicate well while working as part of a team, and have prior phlebotomy experience (hospital experience preferred) along with Basic Life Support (BLS-CPR) certification and a CA Phlebotomist license.

Preferred
- High School Graduate General Studies or GED
- Certificate Other Graduate of a Medical Assistant or Lab Assistant school preferred
- Any phlebotomist work, hospital experience preferred
