Director Surgical Services
The posted compensation range of $58.39 - $90.70 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.

Provides leadership and accountability in the daily operations of the Surgical Services Department. Includes developing and maintaining physician relations, empowering clinical care givers through solicitation of input, and implementation of actions to improve delivery of patient care. Responsible for planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the provision of services in the department. Participates in and/or supervises the delivery of patient care, as necessary, and has the responsibility for establishing standards of nursing practice for the service. Assures achievement of department goals and takes an active role in achievement of hospital goals as they relate to the operations department. Assures adherence to hospital policies and standards set forth by accreditation and regulatory agencies. Available to support the clinical needs of the department by providing staffing support as volume and acuity demand.
Span of control 55 to 70 head count with direct accountability/reporting for one or two cost centers, three if span of control does not exceed 70.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing humankindness to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following:
- A degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN).
- MSN must be obtained within 2 years of hire.
- 4 years progressive clinical leadership experience required.
Experience in Acute Care preferred. - RN license to practice in state of employment as applicable.
- Sit within 6 months; Must achieve within 1 year of hire or transfer to the role.
Physical Requirements - Sedentary work - prolonged periods of sitting and exert up to 10 lbs. force occasionally.
